Wallwork By Dan Maginnity (Byrd) & Hanna Hoyne (Hoon) Dan Maginnity (sculptor, muralist), and Hanna Hoyne (sculptor, performance artist) explore their common interest inephemeral artwork produced in the public space. Their collaboration is based on a history of individual investigations (since 1995) into spatial intervention throughperformative action; the experience of the artwork over time; scale; and the body. The cardboard installation for Wallworks at ANCA presents a makeshiftcopy of a wall sourced in Berlin in 2012. Mimicking graffiti art, the artists have treated this facsimile surface as one would an outdoor wall, using thematerials, modes and methods of outdoor production. Ironically, the low-quality cardboard surface provides a mobile base thus preserving the otherwise value-less, short-lived murals - in other words, creating durable, commercially viable art objects.
